is this compatible with the APAEXT hdd format???

edit: I got this error: 192.168.1.127: APA partition is broken; aborting. , so it is not supported...

edit2: maybe there is another method? via usb? too bad they did not allow to install an .ISO via usb ... I think the only way is to actually get the HDD out and install on pc ...

If you formatted your HDD with ToxicOS or Winhiip with ToxicOS settings, you will get that error. There are compatbility issues between the 2 formats.

I have ToxicOS and formatted to a normal 48bit HDL using Winhiip and have never had an issue with ToxicOS running games, so the ToxicOS formatting is not necessary...im guessing you used ToxciOS to format with.

I dont use the network to install, so i cant help much with that, but i use a USBtoIDE cable for quick installing, without needing to open the PC and connect direct to a IDE ribbon.

Winhiip can install a 4GB game in just a few mins, while network installs can take 10 times longer. So in the long run, its quicker to pull the HDD from the PS2 and connect with a USB to IDE cable or enclosure.

If you really want to use network installing, then look for an app called HDL Salvage to try fixing your HDD's APA Partitions.

thanks for the info JNABK , I did use Winhiip to make the APAEXT partition... luckily all my ISOS now are stored in my pc, so I could easily re-format... my main concern was to avoind all those ps2 hdd movements, and have something similar to the xbox1 where you send data via network and you don't have to take out hdd's... I had used in the past the method you mention, getting 2-3mb/sec, I was hopping for a better app/way for DMS
    thanks all!

If you reformat using Winhiip and use the 48bit HDL option, you should also make sure to use these in the Options Tab:
    - application over ride : 48bit HDLoader
    - Settings: Reduce Fragments & Log File Generation

The Log file will allow you to use the scan/repair function and then use the restore option if you need to restore if a repair makes it worse.
