Hi, I installed a dms4 pro in a friend's v14 console and am having some issues. I couldn't get the chip flashed cause it wouldn't read the flash disc, just gave a rsod, but now I got the chip flashed thx to the mem card flash and another friend's ps2. Anyway, I can get into the toxic os by holding r1 and all the functions of the chip itself work like devolution mode and disabling, etc. However, I cannot boot copies. I copied an original game and tried it on my friend's ps2 and it worked fine so I know the copy is fine, and I know this ps2 can read the dvds im using since I tried a coped movie with the same media. When I try booting it in toxic it just says cannot load the disc, but originals and movies work fine. I know ppl are gonna say its one of the points o-w, but I resoldered them all and checked the voltages and they are all solid. Can anyone give me any help in this situation? I can provide pics if necessary. What should I check for? What should the voltages be? Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Ok, you should make sure that you burnt the dvds at 2x. What type of dvd are you using anyways? It could be the modchip itself but I doubt that. DMS is touchy and if you don't install them properly they will not work.

Thx for the reply. I burned it at 4x but I don't think that matters because I tested the copy in a friend's ps2 and it worked perfectly. I use ritek dvds, but like I said I know the copy is good since I tested it in another ps2. I also know the modchip is fine since I flashed it with toxic using a mem card and every function of the chip works (disable, quick boot, toxic, etc). I can get into the toxic menu by holding R1 and if I try to load the disc it just says "unable to load disc". I resoldered all the cdvd points and they are all solid and have continuity to their alternate points. Any help is appreciated.

I think you should look at the dms forums for help.

By that I meant the forums hosted on the dms website not the forums here.

gelato I have a post over there as well and they aren't much help. I'm posting to as many sites as I can to try to find an answer.

check your o p u and w points. You might have one in the wrong place.
If it is a dms4 pro se you cannot boot a disc from toxicos unless you do it quickly or eject and then tap eject button again then "load disc."
But first you need to resolve your boot problem as you are saying that it wont boot with boot mode at default either.

Pictures would help.... especially showing the o-w points.

Here's some pics, the extra blue wire is going to the Q point, I put it like that after seeing others do it.

Hey guys, I got it working thx to the guys at the dms forums. Turns out I wasn't supposed to use the Q point, but rather the C point and a different point on the board. Once I soldered the wire to the proper point on the chip and the board, it booted my game right up. Thanks to everyone.
