Lazurus - the chip that came back to life...

Well, I have had a DMS 4 pro SE for some time. The usual black screen of death everytime you booted, and at the right time of month it would come to life (hence I sacked it off and bought a crystal 2 chip - rock solid first installation).
Thank you mrmodchips.co.uk for you help in solving this problem - NOT. by not accepting I had a faulty modchip.

However I have aquired a version 5 ps2 for my sons bedroom, and needed a chip. After some digging in the dms forums I found info which I concured with that dms had indeed got some dodgy 33mhz crystals.
I lifted a 54 mhz off a old duff version 2 board, and transplanted onto the dms 4 board. Powered up, bang there it is, 100% boot, no black screens what so ever.
So for all you people out there with the dms 4 se pro, get the crystal changed works a treat.

Sorry to hear about your problems with DMS. I'm sure you'll be very happy with your CC though, especially once our next version of software comes out in the next weeks!

Hi crystal,

am already chuffed with the CystalChip , love it, and love the active developement. Must admit waiting with anticipation for this new release, thank the rest of your chaps that are on the team.

Also, if anyone out there wants their DMS reworking to try and get rid of the intermittent BSOD's will be more that happy to oblidge for a few £££ .
I am awaiting crystals supplies, and prices.
