I have a replacement laser in a v4 ps2 with a dms3 chip, working just fine for dvd original and backup. however, cd portion after damned near a minute it'll pop up with the disc image for an original and backup but when you go to launch it the silly thing red screens ... disable the modchip and boot a original ps2 cd and it'll actually play, still takes about a minute for it to recognize though.

my assumption is i'd need to crank down or up the cd pot by about 50-100 to get it to work with the modchip turned on right?

just a little side info, the chip install is just fine because the original laser played cd's just fine but the dvd portion was hosed(wouldn't even see a dvd disc at all). this replacement laser plays dvd just fine but will only play original cd's with the chip off so it's obviously an adjustment issue aside from the white gear which i've already tried.

i would presume crank the pot down to get more power when the chip is enabled. atleast thats what would make sense to me, works with the chip off but with the chip on it red screens. thanks for your time.
