How to use ps2 backups on rewritables with DMS4Pro (ToxicOS0.3) ?
How to use ps2 backups on rewritables with DMS4Pro (ToxicOS0.3) ? –
I installed DMS4Pro (TOXIC OS0.3) with harddisk in a V9.
The owner is using the built-in HDLoader to copying games to hdd.
He did not want to burn the games on DVD-R or DVD+R , but on DVD Rewritable, because he only is using the disks once.
I know with the Crystal Chip and Matrix Infinity it is possible to install an extra wire to make that possible.
How can he use Rewritables with the DMS4Pro (ToxicOS0.3) ?
Do I have to install an extra wire ?
Or is it a limitation of the chip/firmware ?
Or does he have to burn the disk in another way ?
He burned it with DVDDecrypter.
Sorry DMS based discusions isnt actually allowed on ps2-scene Please use there forum for that.
I did not know that. Where can I find that in the rules ??
I already found the answer, connect the T wire.
I think it is strange that they would reject messages related to DMS chips.
We are talking here about Modchips in general.
It is good to talk about the differences.
It is not right to say, ok they have their own forums, so lets reject all messages about dms.
I can understand that the DMS forum, will reject message about the Matrix Infinity, but do not think it is right that a general forum like this, should reject messages related to DMS.
I can better understand it that:
- we don't like messages about clones
- we don't like messages about modchips which are able to play backup ps2 games
Thats not it at all,if you go back a few years and have a look at when the DMS4 chip was fisrt released Ps2-scene looked into it and found that most of the code used by it was stolen from other developers.
Also with the release of the dms Ezi the forum just sow a sworm of people who could get it working and DMS covering it up,thats when it was decided.
Don't burn on -RW's it will end up killing the laser...the unit was not made to read it
Nope, actually V9 and up machines are designed to run RWs.
You do need to solder an extra wire for the DMS4 to be able to deal with RWs.
And an extra tip, on a V9 with ToxicOS 0.3, there's a small bug which forces you to put the DVD-RW in the console, put it to standby and then next time you boot it, the RW will play (otherwise direct boot will give a RSOD with RWs).
Thanks for all the info.
By the way, I see that there is a sub-forum for DMS now ;-)
