DMS4Pro acting funky in a V5
DMS4Pro acting funky in a V5 –

There's a first time for everything folks, and this is the first time I have encountered a problem not easily solvable by myself.
Here's the deal, been doing mod installs for the last 2-3 years, never had an issue like this come up, I will do my best to explain it.
When I start up the PS2 is will go to a black screen (actual black screen, not a screen that shows when there is no video at all), if I reset it again it gets no video, on the THIRD reset it boots up, I actually reflashed the chip that way to see if it would help but it didn't. You would also think that it would boot into backup mode? Guess what, it boots Toxic.
The chips aren't faulty I tried 3 of them with the same results, I installed one that was doing that in this into a V9 and it works flawlessly. What could be the problem? Bios points have perfect contact (mind you I am only testing bios points right now because I would like to get this solved before doing the CD/DVD wires. Can't be a ground problem, using two 30 guage wires. I tried an alt 3.3v point, same result. Would be awesome if someone knew a solution to this. Thanks.

The DMS4 is just plan old sensitive. What you are describing IS ground bounce. Two 30GA wires I have never thought to be enough, others have luck with this but if you have 22-24GA stranded at you disposal why not use it. Also the new flash is suppose to remedy issues with certain flash bios's on the DMS4 but does nothing to resolve the fact that the DMS4 is just plain old sensitive to begin with. This is why I'm assuming they are releasing the DMS4 SE, I hope they do resolve this with the SE. I also like the fact that they have made the SE much smaller

myself and a few other people belive there is a serious bug in the dms4 firmware, intruduced with toxicOS 0.3. it seems to affect only a few select consoles.
try to flash with toxicbios 1.3, as this is confirmed to work with these problem consoles.
if toxicbios 1.3 does not work, then we know its another issue.
