I have 2 questions about the wires to use.

1- Is it better to use a solid wire or twisted strand wire?

2- The chip calls for 22 Awg and 30 Awg wire. All I can get is, 26 twisted strand and solid 20 guage. Would those wires work?

This is my first Mod chip install and I couldnt find alot about wire size or type with the search function. Perhaps i searched the wron key words. lol

    Update:

Decided to use IDE hard drive ribbon cable wires. They are excelently sheilded both in the thickness and in the composition of the insulation. They are also made of very low resistance wires. Even though they are twisted strand wires they will transmit signals fast and with little if any cross squak. You can either peel them off and use them as single wires or keep them in bundles to ease their routing over the board. A huge plus was that they were super easy to solder to the boards. For the power groung wires I used 20 solid.

The 26 sized wire was to big causing crossed circuts and a 28 sized solid wire was acting like a heat sink not alowing for a good solder joint.

My wire routing could have been better but I is all working so far for my first install.
