I already have a modded xbox and thought it was about time to do the ps2! I'm going to purchase the DMS4 EZI Pro and just wanted to find out a few things.
What advantages would I have by running the Toxic os?
How would I run games from the HDD? Do I need special software or will the modchip do the work?

the advantages would be that you have most of the functions that normaly is seperated in diffrent programs now in one program.
to run games of hdd you need the networkadapter to connect the hd to your ps2.
If you got a slime one there is a hd connection kit to get.
in the toxic os there is a inbuild software to load and copy games to hd.
and just as a note, some have reported the DMS4 EZI not being to great,
well the chip is but maybe not the connectors. I have not tried it myself, thats just something a read some time ago.
Does the toxicOS work on dms4 EZI pro?
I have the network adapter so no problem there, With regards to the HD, can I use any (I know it must be over 40gb) or is there only certain types I can use?Quote:

any HDD will work aslong as it fits in the NA (as far as i know all maxtor drives fit, WD drives usually dont though)
there are instructions how to mod ure NA if it wont fit

id reccomend modding it properly or getting somone whos good at modding to mod it for you
and modding a PS2 is much much much more difficult then modding an X-Box
OK if I don't go for the EZI version whats better, the DMS4 Pro or Matrix Infinity? And I agree the XBOX is sooo easy to mod, I've run out of things I can do to it now, thats why I've moved on to my PS2!

i would reccomend the MI
mainly cos alot of people have said installing the DMS4 boat of a chip is a real PITA
plus MI realease lots of udates, and u will get alot of support here for a MI chip

just make sure you get a original MI if you decied to go for the MI.
there is loads of clones out there, and the infinityteam are putting clone protection on there newer releases of firmware, so if you get a clone and try to update the firmware your left with a usless chip.
I really like my DMS4 Lite (wish I'd gone pro)...works very well...installed it myself...no problems yet. No experience with MI, tho.
Nothing wrong with a DMS4 EZI PRO, I have one installed in a V7 PS2 and I love it. If not for the fact my laser is showing the first slightest signs of wear It would be heavnly, but the laser going is not the DMS4 chips fault.. I just use the PS2 to much and even more now that I can run homebrew.
Be very paitent with the install, read and follow all directions 100%. Read over the DMS4 EZI install PDF until you dont need it to know the instuctions step by step and even then use it when you do the install. NEVER force any of the connectors on, mine all cliped on with minimal force. Screw the ground to the mobo under the sheild, not through it. Either cut a hole on the area above the chip or place electrical tape above the chip on the metal shield so its insulatied.
