DMS4 EZI PRO Solderless - on a v6 PS2
DMS4 EZI PRO Solderless - on a v6 PS2 –
My 1st post on here so I appologise if Ive missed the answer to this already on here!
My brother dropped his Playsation and chip off this morning for me to sort out. As I've done a PC build course he thought I'd be able to do it.
I checked his version number on the back and it is a v6 number. However the pics shown on the sites all vary from what I have in front of me now.
The chip he bought can be seen at http://www.mrmodchips.co.uk/catalog/...fee2c8f6750f74
I also used a link from this site to verify the version of PS2.
The pdf that is linked to the file is a little confusing too...
Where's pin 1?
Which side of the DSP clip should I cut off?
There'll be morequestions probably but I'm not that far on yet!
If anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction I - and my brother - would be more than grateful...

Finally sorted the photo... Here is the board I'm working with.
Thanks again, LD!

Thanks for letting me know anyway!
The site where it was ordered did state that this chip would fit the purpose - I checked the codes on the site... Obviously I can't read or it's badly assembled info.
Anyway, rather than spend more money at present I've re-assembled the machine. Sadly it won't fire up. The red power light comes on but no green...
Does anyone know of any common reasons behind this? 1st things to check and so on?
Thanks a lot folks!!!
first thing to check would be the reset ribbon.what happens if u hit the eject button ? does the ps2 power up, if not, strip the ps2 down again & make sure the ribbon is inserted the right way round & all the way home, with regards to the chip, have a look in the picture gallery of installs, in amongst the posts there is a dms4 ezi that has been soldered in but i cant remember by whom, find the posting & have a chat with the member with regards to soldering yours in instead of using the clips.
