DMS3 Firmware 2.0 Finally Released

2.2 Upgrade boots to browser...Status: "Press X to upgrade"

a)Press X, high speed whirring noise comes from drive, fan..not sure...most noise I'v ever heard from a PS2 though...noise dies down..browser hangs on either 'Erasing/Programming Flash' message...Dms3 1.8 works as normal after reset

Im also having problems, everything was working at 1.8, flash update hung after 20 mins. Reset and no boot.

I have tried reset to revert back to old flash, if I do this with no disk in I can get boot sequence and to browser window.

Then I have tried booting both flash 1.8 and latest flash but disk churns and nothing happens, black screen or memcard/disk screen.

I have tried this and holding select and the a reset. Out of approx 20 tries it once booted the latest flash disk but hung again.

Now I can only get ps2 to boot to browser screen if I reset to old flash but it wont boot the flash disk.

This is on a V9 silver ps2. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions please?

dev 1 = memorycard explorer
dev2 = hdd explorer

Just been trying to get the flash to go but no luck still.

It hangs on both erasing and programming. My current flash version shows as D. D instead of a version number. Does this offer any clues?

I will try re-flashing it.. it was the new 2.2 that didn't work..

the OLD 2.0 DID work....

Perhaps it didn't flash correctly...

Just noticed that new flash was released so I updated and it fixed the problem with my eye toy from flash 2.0. it worked fine with 1.8 and now 2.2 works fine also.

the problem was that my eye toy wouldnt pick up my movements, so it wasnt playable at all(the video overlay worked fine tho). I had to reset back to original flash after in order to use the eye toy.

I'm not sure if this was something they fixed on purpose, but whatever the problem was, its gone now.

Right finally got it to go, phew! This is the combination I used :-

1) Power off
2) Reset to use old v1.8 flash
3) Single reset
4) Let PS2 boot to mem card/disk screen
5) Holding select do single reset
6) Keep holding select and v2.2 disk boots
7) Remove disk and close draw
8) Press X and wait approx 20-30 seconds

Flash completed! Gesh that was painful! This just wouldnt work fullstop for me until I removed the disk from the tray and tried as mentioned earlier on this thread.

Well, I just upgraded from 1.8 to 2.2 on my v9, and the video fixes don't work for me.

Previously on 1.8, when I played PAL games on my console, the color would be ok, but the screen would flicker unless I used swap magic to change to an NTSC signal. Now when I select any of the video fix boot options, they all behave the same, with no color at all along with the video flicker.

From the release notes it sounded like there was a way to get an NTSC output forced, but I can't seem to get it to work if it's there. Is there a way for me to at least get the color back?

Many of my games that on 1.8 were in English are now (2.2 v9) in Japanese, is something in the config menu to change this??
