    hi ive installed a MI in to my ver 7 ps2 and cant get it to run anything unless i disable the MI , my question is ive gone and used the wire provided and nearly at half length that they sent me ...... all the mod pics i see online used very short wires ......... does this make a difference ? id just have to open up my ps2 and do all that soddering for nothing.

    even if your modchip is ground bounce resistant (matrix infinity), you still might have problems if your wires are abnormally thin and long. I would first just replace your 3.3 and gnd wires with thick and short wires to see if that fixes your problem.

    you should ideally use 22awg wire for gnd and pwr, try and keep the gnd as short as poss, direct solder to the board if you can.

    will try that and let others konw if it works or not right now i AM using VERY thin wire and they are quite long ...........ill be back after i replace the 3.3 and grnd with shorter and fatter wire. thank you for your insight i hope it works
