What cd/dvd you should use final

Sorry for making new post for this but i think its good to clear things up.
So this is what i have heard and would be nice to have some confirmation from veteran users:

with MI and ps2 you can run:
cd-r,cd-rw,dvd-r,dvd+r no problems with those(dvd-r recommendet, altho use dvd+r).
Then there is dvd-r dl and dvd+r dl (havn't tryed eighter of them) heard that you should only use dvd+r dl.

Type:
When burning cues (alcohol 120%) you can choose "RAW DAO" instead of "DAO SAO" (RAW DAO is ps1/ps2 type) Not sure does this make any differense).

Divx/video/audio:
I use reality player from memcard and it seems ps2 dont like to read data dvd (filled with avis) I guess you should audio/video data with cd:s, and with dvd:s copied dvd images(movies), havn't tryed with vcd:s or svcd:s.

Pleas correct or add anything. Hopes this helps

The media which works isn't dependant on the chip (well, maybe dual layer is, I dunno) The media is more dependant on the PS2 itelf. As for DivX/Video/Audio, almost all chips work with reality player if you run it from a disc or HD loader or whatever.
And as for burning and stuff, I HIGHLY suggest DVDecryptor, even if you already have Nero, it will save you some headaches down the lane.

i know burning settings in nero and for others i use alcohol.
My point is that what cd's/dvd's are best for ps2 laser

just wondering how much better dvd-r is than dvd+r? I noticed that laser really keeps noise with dvd+r im not really going to change to dvd-r until i have used my 70 dvd+r what i have left.

u can make some chips play dvd-rw / dvd+rw as well with extra wires but it isnt advised because of the strane on the laser

havn't tryed with dvd-r but does it strane laser bit more with dvd+r? Altho it works nicely it keeps quite a noice there.

It´s o.k. if you´re using high quality +R´s.

But many cheep low-budget producers create +R´s and mostly the -R´s have a better quallity.

Use MCC/TY-Verbatim and you´re fine.

For DivX, MP3,... use SMS, or PS2-RMP (i recomment SMS in the newest Version) and burn you´re disc like a Standart-Data-CD/DVD in Mode 1, Level 1, ISO 9660 + Joilet.

It´ll work fine.

The different SAO, DAO,... Modes didn´t define, how the format of the disc is.

It defines, how it will be burned.

DAO = Disc at once
SAO = Session at once
TAO = Track at once
...

Can you install apps to your memorycard?
Im not sure but prehaps you can boot sms from cd.
So im not sure about this but try this:
use swamp disk to boot up sms (burned on cd)
then just change cd to your media disk and open it.
