Weird PS2

Have you guys ever had a problem where your ps2 is working great with the MI chip installed and all of a sudden it says please insert a proper psx or ps2 game and it won't work unless you reset or shut down and start up again? Is that just a laser cleaning issue or what? I am a bit confused.

What PS2 version?

It could be that a wire is getting loose. If you can, open it up and check all the wires to make sure it's properly soldered.

It could also be your laser that's not reading the media you feed it and giving you the rsod.

it is a slim v12. and it is weird how it does it sometimes and not other times! and the top with the pop up top is jammed a bit. any way to fix that?

Ok, if it's a v12 then I hope you have a laser fix installed. It might be the laser that died out.

There are a lot of different type of v12 laser fix out there. Sounds like you didn't apply one. Do some searching on this forum for v12 fix.
