08-25-2006,10:21 AM
Hey people how you doing..
I Have a problem..Today i've installed a matrix infinity Green dot chip in my V14 (75004) and i accidentally removed the SX point that go's to the motherboard..
After that i continued soldering all the points and assembled the ps2 again but the ps2 won't turn on at all..not even the standby red light..
Please help

Did you remove the little SMD part of did you actually rip the track off?? If the track is gone and the SX via is damaged, you have to flip the board around and look for an alternative point to stick the SX wire to, and then use some thin wire to reconnect it to the SMD capacitor

hmmm, currently how is your SX wire soldered?? is it on just the pad that it was suppossed to be on or across the whole thing?
have you tried removing your mod?? and then testing if the PS2 will boot...

Actually the cable is soldered on the red part where the sx used to be:
I've tried to take the 3.3V cable (that go's frm the chip to the Motherboard) but i get the same..

try removing everything and making sure all the points are clear and not shorted, the PS2 should still be able to boot even without that part...

yeah, so you know the console not booting prolly had to do with your chip install, don't worry about the missing capacitor too much. put the SX wire on the pad where it should be...then slowly reinstall the rest of the wires, testing as you go along...
