V13 & MI blue dot DVD media causes system shut down. –

Hello all,
This is my first post on the forums. I really dig the amount of help you can find here for troubleshooting issues. Maybe someone might be able to give me some suggestions for my dilemma.
I have a V13 PS2 and I recently installed a Matrix Infinity blue chip.(I have read somewhere here on the forums that blue chip should work fine with the V13). I have installed the latest 1.68 firmware as well, as far as I can tell everything looks in order. I also have the slimline v4 laser fix installed (just as a precaution).
I can play Blue disks (both pal and ntsc) and mount cds, but any dvd media results in a system shut down. It literally turns off.
If there is a DVD inserted at boot, it turns right off. Does this sound like and issue with voltage or with the DVD controller points? Which ones are the controller points? Anyone seen this before?

Remove the fix.
And add a subzero fix.
If your fix is PICfix (matrix ) based try to play with the value of the resistor in J point ( 1500-2200 )

The same issue occurs with the fix removed. The laser fix had been working without issue. Let me give a little more history. Recently my v13 took a dive. I had ordered a Logicboard with the SlimlineFix -V4 and a Matrix infinity pre-installed Turns out the chip was a crappy clone, the matrix infinity se. Of course it tripped out after changing the settings in the infinity manager. I did a brain transplant, chip for the real deal Matrix blue dot. Since installing the infinity, things looked good until the DVD media issue had occurred. Does the v13 really need a laser fix? I may try another 3.3v post to see if this resolves the issue.

Wow, so I checked all my connection points. Rechecked my ground and voltage, and it looks fine. After doing so, the unit now will not read cd media. It will shut off of there is media inside. I can see the laser just come on and then, snap it's off. If I reset the machine and let it boot without media, it will perform normally, when I place a disk in, it will spin for a second or two and tell me there was a disk read error. If I attempt to mount another disk, it shuts off, but now I notice that the both the green led (power) and the red (stand by) led are on simultaneously causing an orange light. I am guessing that the laser got shot somehow in this affair, but what the heck is causing the instant shut off when it tries to read media?

Your problem is the laser, probably your laser is a SPU lents (it's very bad), verify the focus and tracking. If you change the laser for a PVR your problem will be solved. (Your problem is your lent broken and it active the matrix fix, and turn off your ps2)
Excuseme for my bad english.
