Hi, i bought a v12 slim ps2 from argos last year and decided to get it modded. so i got a matrix infinity green dot. the guy at the local pc shop, who mods ps2's, said it would cost me £35 for installation. i got a subzero fix and gave it to him, but he installed some other laser fix, which looked like a summone fix, but white instead of green. i got home, had a look at the motherboard, and it was very well modded, but the ground wire was a little messy, and he connected the H point, which you are not meant to install on a english V12. i started up the ps2, no back ups would play, so i took out the H connection, and still nothing. I have checked all the connection points, etc, and i have put in the firmware upgrade disk. what can i do? ive tryed some button combinations, but im not sure if i entered them right. if you want, ill post some pictures, but i only have a 2MP camera. Please Help Me.

P.S, when i put int the firmware upgrade disk or a backup game, the red screen comes up "please instert a ps1 or ps2 disk"

    P.P.S Its not a clone

Sounds like the chip does not work. Can you play original games?
You said, ground wire was not soldered very well. Maybe you can fix it yourself, otherwise go to your store and let the guy check everthing again.

You can check all wires with a multimeter. Also have a look if there are any shorts. Maybe you can try to resolder the GND wire, it's comparativly easy.
Can you enter the config menu by pressing triangle and circle while booting your ps2?
If you can, post the picture.

Go back to the guy who installed it and ask him if he tested it and to show you it working. It's either a bad install or a bad modchip - either way he should have checked it worked.

Could be the Infinity is Homebrew, if so , it will not play backups
Have you tried the recovery mode ?
Insert upgrade disk, hold reset button for 1-2 sec and see if it upgrades.
    Also, post a picture
