I was just wondering if anyone knows how stable the matrix infinity is.
In just one day it has crashed 3 times. Could it be that ive been given a fake
Infinity chip?
Thanks in advance.

My Matrix infinity is very stable. Once in a while I'll get a disc read error, but it seems to only really happen with burnt stuff (homebrew, I don't make copies), so perhaps its my media or something.
daisukejigen, dre's are because of your laser not the MI.
NaviGas, it is a very stable chip if installed properly. It should boot 100% of the time if you do not have a bad/worn laser. When you say it crash, do you mean that you're playing a game and then it freezes? If that's the case then it might be your laser.
Yeah I know its most likely not at all related to the chip, though anything is possible I suppose. Though earlier when I was playing PrideGP 2003, I was reminded that sometimes when I play one of my import games I am greeted with the insert a playstation or playstation2 disc (or whatever the exact wording is) screen. This rarely happens though. I'd estimate 1:200.
Yeah, it crashes ingame , its brand new. Boots 100 percent.
Could ive gotten a fake chip?
It only crashes when the chip is on? If you disable the chip and play a domestic original, does it not crash at all?
Well the weird thing is that it crashes mostly when i play cd-r games, not when playing dvd+r ones.
Navigas, what SCPH nr do you have?
Maybe its cuz i have v15?
At matrixs webby it doesnt say its supported.
Well the MI does support the v15.
Did you burn the backups yourself?
Best is to upgrade with a CDR/CDRW and nott use them for games.
Only DVD-R or +R mediacode Ritek G04/05 burning speed 4x speed max.
