Is there a way to tell real/fake Infinity w/o screwing open? +CodeBreaker/Sleep quest
Yeah....none of the screwdrivers I have on me are small enough to unscrew the tiny ones in the PS2 (Slim, v13).
But, I read somewhere that some of the fakes/clones have older firmware. My Infinity has 1.82 firmware (shows up on the logo on startup), and I think that's pretty recent compared to some of the older ones (1.4). I'm a little skeptical about the chip being quality because I got the PS2 modded at some Chinese mall, but it was pretty expensive, so it wasn't like it was super-cheap or anything ($120 CA...sort of got ripped off I know but came with quite a bit of games so I'm happy)
So, is there any way I can tell without opening it up and/or risking my chip by upgrading the firmware?
About CodeBreakers....does a backup work on a modded ps2? I have 9.2 and I want to know if I can back it up and then give the real copy to a friend or something.
