    Hi,
Is there a version of this chip?

As boot the console is not well distinge version of the chip that is installed.

Will update firmware chip are cumulative or should one by one to get?

Does anyone have any good tutorial for such Update?

    Thanks you.

As long it is no clone you can update.

As far as I know, no there was no firmware version 1.53, it sounds like you have a clone. Some of the newer clones like the Modbo 4.0 will allow you to upgrade the firmware, but most clones of the Matrix Infinity do not. Some clones will protect itself by not letting you flash/upgrade the firmware, while others have no protection built-in, meaning if you try to upgrade the firmware, you will damage the chip and render it completely useless. The only way to really know if you have an official Matrix Infinity, or determine what chip you have is to open up your PS2, take a good clear picture of the chip and get someone here to identify it for you.

Below is a list of all the firmwares I have downloaded from the Matrix Infinity site. If there was a 1.53, I would of downloaded it, but there wasn't. Also, just because your Matrix Infinity chip has one of the below firmware versions, doesn't mean it's not a clone.

LIST OF OFFICIAL MATRIX INFINITY FIRMWARE:

    InfinityFW13.zip (150,992 bytes)
    InfinityFW131.zip (150,686 bytes)
    InfinityFW135.zip (136,910 bytes)
    InfinityFW138.zip (155,925 bytes)
    InfinityFW139.zip (156,181 bytes)
    InfinityFW14.zip (155,980 bytes)
    InfinityFW145.zip (164,650 bytes)
    InfinityFW146.zip (165,446 bytes)
    InfinityFW15.zip (166,561 bytes)
    InfinityFW154.zip (166,488 bytes)
    InfinityFW168.zip (256,540 bytes)
    InfinityFW175.zip (234,673 bytes)
    InfinityFW182.zip (250,744 bytes)
    InfinityFW188.zip (245,583 bytes)
    InfinityFW191.zip (251,238 bytes)
    InfinityFW193.zip (250,519 bytes)

Here is the official Matrix Infinity site, and here is a direct link to their firmware download page.

NOTE: The above firmware links were found by using the following link (http://www.infinitymod.com/matrix/fi...inityFW138.zip) and just changing the firmware version #. So if you wanted to download firmware v1.54, just change the link to http://www.infinitymod.com/matrix/fi...inityFW154.zip, etc.

To install the firmware, if you are certain it will not damage your chip, is to unzip the files using some program like WinZip, or built-in "Uncompress (zipped) Folder" in Windows XP, etc. Then use a CD burning program like Nero, which recognizes .bin/.cue files, to burn it to a CD. Then put the CD in your PS2 and start it up, letting it read the contents off the disc, which starts the update program. Instructions are also at the bottom of Matrix Infinity's download page here.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, if you have a cloned Matrix Infinity and don't know it's capabilities... not only should you not attempt to flash/upgrade the firmware, but also do not attempt to get into the modchip Boot Menu and change any settings. This will also damage your chip and is what originally happened to me when I had a clone and thought it was the real thing.

What are the differences in firmware?

I have 1.35 or 1.38 and everything works perfectly.. what would an update do? I usually like having the latest version..!

If everything works fine, then there is no reason to upgrade. Check Matrix Infinity's homepage here for the firmware change history (new features, bug fixes, etc). However, as I stated in my previous post, it's very important not to do anything that will damage your chip (upgrading/changing the boot menu settings), unless you know for sure your mod-chip supports these features or isn't a clone. You can also look at the configuration menu's to see what new features added.
