summone fix...? –
02-14-2006,01:58 PM
Ok, so I have a friend that wants me to install a MI in his v12.... I've been researching this model and it's apparent that I have to do an addition fix to protect the laser.
I've tried following the threads on "summone's" fix, but I'm not sure I have the timeline of the changes he made along the way to the current setup.
For one, I now see a PCB board of an odd shape that appears to fit over the area to be modified. Is this the current fix to use for the v12 or is it just one version.
i also see many modders just using to resistors and I believe cutting a trace.
I assure you, I've been trying like hell to narrow downt the best route to take to do this fix, but I'm unsure of the details. I'd appreciate any help or information on this topic. I held off a few days to post this, as I was sure I could figure it out myself, but seeing how this is a friends unit, I don;t want to do the wrong thing and screw up his unit. Why couldn;t everyone just have a v7..lol

I have been running MI green dot with Summone's fix for several weeks now with no problems on a v12. You do NOT cut a trace with Summone's fix.
