    Hi everybody, I'm a newbie in this forums and all the things in this forum. Hope to be useful and be a friendly user.

    My problem is like this:
    * I have a PS2 Slim 70010 with a Matrix Infinity clone (Modbo 3.0 )
    * I can use any kind of media (originals CD/DVD/DVD Video, CD-R/DVD+R/DVD-R)
    * I burn my backups with DVD Decrypter at 4x in Verbatim or Sony CD-R/DVD-R/DVD+R.
    * When I start the console, it works very well and quiet, but when it has 20 minutes or more of play time, the console begins to sound strange. When I tried to check what's making the noise, it appears to be the ventilator.
    * Whatever I do in my PS2, when it has 20 minutes or more I hear that noise. It sounds like a ventilator getting more speedy.

    It is normal that kind of noise in the PS2 Slim?
    If not, what would be your recommendations?

    P.D. Sorry If my english is bad, I'm from Mexico and hope mi info mis useful and detailed.

    At first I used DVD+R's but after awhile I thought I'd experiment with DVD-R's and they seem to not stress my laser (400C) as much.

    Thanks for your help!

    I'm using DVD-R/+R and both of them don't give me problems. But I was asking how true is "the PS2 laser get damaged when you use CD-ROM/-R to play some PSOne or PS2 games (games that originally were made in CD-ROm like Shadowman 2econd Coming)?

    Someone say no, and others say yes but as you are the professional in this, I would like to ask to you.

    Hmm, Isnt those orginal games dvd-rams? Are those much more expencive than normal dvd:s? Havn't checked yet.
    These dvd+r works nicely, have to try with dvd-r and orginal games and compare sounds. What i know is that scratches on cd:s,dvd:s damage or at least stress laser.
    As long as it runs nicely (without strange sounds) it should be ok. I remember my friend had ps1 with mod-module probably more than 3 years and we played scratched dirty cd:s and even fixed that spinner holder with "bluevax" XD. It worked perfectly, well old ps1 lasers are kind of better than new ones but of course they are not dvd readers.

    In that case, I can play without any problems my PSONE and PS2 CD-ROM/-R games. Hope to get a long life time of my PS2 Slim.

    I was wondering if there is a list of wich medis is good for CD-R, because I use Sony and Verbatim CD-R to make the backups of my legal games.
