Yeah broodje, I really thought the same thing before posting my previous post but I didn't want to say anything just to avoid flaming with someone. I am also feeling many people (so called "pros") who know how to perform such installation and fixes are just ignoring this thread, for some reason I don't really understand and don't want to.

Anyway, if anybody could just answer our questions, I would appreciate.

yes, that thought has crossed my mind also, but its not how this forum works, i know from experience. Ppl are always very helpful here.
So am kinda stunned.

I´ve tried a Matrix in a PAL GH 071-42 and it didn´t work great.
Tried both the PNP and then PNP and resistor...and just resistor.
It booted sometime and sometime not.
So...........I´ve changed to Duo3Ultra with great result.(have done over 20 SCPH90000 with Duo3Ultra and not any returns).
So I stick to the cheaper Duo3Ultra on these models.

ok, so the SCPH-79004 (GH-062-02 mobo) is ok to mod with a matrix and your transistor mod on the chip ?

I´ve tried a Matrix INFINITY green dot in a Japanese NTSC GH 071-42 too(attached pictures), and finished with the same result. After putting resistor 1k between 'GND' and 'W', it booted well in the first two times and then turned to the black screen, no sound.

I consider changing Matrix to Duo3Ultra. thanks for the info.

wow, that install looks WAY better than mine

anyway, i did the resistor and diode fix on the matrix chip in a V16, GH 062-02.

it does boot to the matrix logo screen every time.
i canacces the matrix menu and change settings.

but sometimes the logo keeps hanging..or...the logo turns away and the screen goes black.

it does not boot the BOOT.ELF from memory card if i set to DEV1.

also, when i turn the ps2 on, it makes a rattling noise for a few seconds :S
i noticed the laser is being pushed towards the middle and beyond, which is why the rattling sound starts.

I don't know what i did wrong with that :S

well, ofcourse it doesnt boot any cd's or dvd whatsoever. nor does it shows the ps2 browser screen.
