Thank you so much D-Blood! You've avoided us to loose lots of time with the Matrix installation on new boards v.16 and v.18.
I'd like to remember that with new boards (and with v.15) it's also necessary to create a short-circuit on Matrix pcb on-board diode otherwise it will not run...
I can suggest the Modbo 745 or 760: it costs ⅓ of Matrix Infinity but, you won't have any trouble with it!
In synthesis this clone equipped with firmware 1.93 (equal to Infinity) is better tha original Infinity modchip
7900x and 90000x both need a 1k resistor between W on chip and GND to get it to work if your using Matrix Infinity (green dot) Sony did a litle change there so values are not the same as they where.
Hi D-Blood, I am about to install a MI (green dot) on a 90000. Could you provide me a diagram or describe the connections for that fix? What are the specifications and/or where can I buy the required resistor?
Many of you seem to like the modbo so I think I will buy this one. But I'm confused because there seems to be 2 company that build those chips in different version... I'd like to know wich version I should buy to play backups on my v16 ps2 and where I can buy it because I don't know where.

I am not the best person to tell you which you should buy but you can buy lots of different Modbos here.

Thx for your info m8, altough i dont quite understand it yet (sorry, kinda noob here)
Could u post a picture of a 'fixed' matrix chip or somthing?
and does this also count for the GH-062-02 motherboard? (SCPH-79004 PAL)
( i got a ps2 SCPH-79004 / GH-062-02 MOBO here with a matrix chip, it aint working properly)
Its kinda driving me nuts
Thx !
Yeah, I also would like to know what is the diagram for such fix. I suppose that by doing the resistor fix on the W pad, we also have to connect W to the PS2 motherboard as required by the modchip (in that case W pad would have to be connected to a resistor and also to a wire whose opposite end should also be connected to the PS2 motherboard's W point).
I have altered the original diagrams for the modbo and adapted for the MI green dot including the resistor fix. Can D-Blood or anyone else who had done this before confirm me if it is everything complete and correct? This is for a PS2 GH-070-42 (90000).

Did you notice I changed the diagram you posted and included the fix I suppose (?) D-Blood proposed?
As for the resistor and all, yeah I know I can buy at radioshack. I just want a confirmation whether the diagram I adapted is correct and complete.
Thanks for the input m8
it looks correct and complete to me, however am not a specialist at this!
it works fine for modbo so it should work fine for matrix i think.
apart from CX point on the diagram of course.
I personally will have to use another diagram since i have a GH-062-02 mobo. which is visually different than the mobo in your diagram...
I really hope the resistor fix is correct, we need conformation from Gradius or D-blood for this to be 100% sure.

Now I'm getting confused about all of this. So what's REALLY necessary to perform a great installation of a Matrix Infinity on a spch90000 ??? Some people say "resistors fix", others say "transistor fix" (and others both!). Could someone really explain why this transistor fix would be needed and if its correct for a 90000? Could someone at least confirm whether the resistor fix I posted before is correct or not? Is there something else missing?
I really don't get it after a long time why so much silence about on this thread!?
