I've had this error before and sent it back to the guy who placed the chip in for me originally. He said it was a problem with the PsTwo and that the laser would burn or something like that. But a new fix was released to solve the problem. About six months down the line and I'm getting the same thing again. Only I'm not sure if it's different this time, I can still play original games. I'm not sure if I could do this last time.

This first occurred when I was messing around in the configuration section. My DVD's play in black and white for some reason and I was trying to find a way to get them in colour. At one point I had turned every section to off. When I moved them back to "on" I couldn't boot up any of my backups.

I've noticed that when booting up the original it no longer says matrix 1.38 under the Playstation logo. Not sure if that's useful but thought I'd give you as much information as I can.

So what's the score, has something broke hardware wise or can i just update the firmware?
