Questions about my chip

Hello, I had a Matrix installed by someone, when it boots up it shows matrix infinity v1.93. I want to play a PAL version of a game. Is there any way to force the mod chip to play it in PAL format? I know someone was able to do this with swap magic, or do I need to actually download the PAL version of the game? I am in the states so I assume my PS2 is NTSC. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
