PSX black/white problem
PSX black/white problem –
Hi, I have a PS2 (PAL) from Europe that I brought over to the U.S. I am having trouble playing my PSX games (NTSC) in color and have tried fiddling with the mod chip options menu. I am currently using NTSC mode for the PS2 screen fix mode, so my PS2 games (NTSC) are working fine. Does anybody have a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance
edit #1: btw, I haven't had problems with playing PSX games (NTSC) in full color before in europe.. and I'm using the latest version 1.93 Matrix Infinity mod
Most likely you were previously using an RGB cable, which is required to show colours in NTSC mode using a PAL PS2, and are now using a composite video cable instead.

From what I've heard you will instead have to get hold of something called 'component cable' (because it has separate leads for colour components), which isn't quite like our RGB but serves the same purpose in the US.

If you have a tv that accepts component, you should get it as you will be able to play dvds with progressive scan output and some games in 480p mode.
