    Hi,

Newb question time after drawing blanks on google and the search. I have a pstwo that i'm planning on fitting a matrix infinity chip and comsoft 4. I bought these thinking no worries i've got a version 12. However when I get it to bits it looks a bit different to the matrix v12 install picture. The mainboard markings are gh-032-54 which I now presume is a v13 model and the case is scph 70003. So can someone tell me if my v13 theory is correct and in that case does that mean the comsoft v4 board is no good for this model? Also on the matrix site the v12 and v13 install is the same diagram, is this correct, are the solder points the same?

    Thanks,
    Dav.

the difference with the 12 and 13 is the 13 does not need a fix, sony already implemented its own so dont worry about the fix, the install of chip is the same, what part looks different to you

Hi thanks for the reply, the picture that you showed appears to be the difference except that its to the left of the usb port when the motherboard is placed backside visible with the joy ports on the right (hope that makes sense).

Basically if I was to install the comsoft as in this picture it would cover the sony fix you have just shown me in your image.

Also on the matrix v12 pic, the 3.3v chip power connection resistor is marked differently, mine says 202 on it, theirs is 50

the 202 and the 50 are the same just different packaging so still use that point.
you really dont need the fix as sony have finally done something right and implemented a good fix, I think some people have used the fix as well but whether it makes it any better, I dont know

I just bought a slim PS2 V12, based on the lable. I have searched this forum and some said the laser fix is needed orther said is's not.

Are there some V12 does not need the fix and where to look for on the board

I am still looking for what chip is for the V12

    Thanks
