PS2 Slim,Matrix Infinity and SX Connection
those components are inline to send the commands for the psx boot function , the chip will replace the signal that you interrupted buy destroying that cap . i would not be concerned about it , the ps2 will no longer boot psx games if the mod chip is removed though ..
That's always nice to know...
yes done this myself before, was craping myself until i found out.
i don't even bother with sx anymore anyway, with ps3 round the corner is anyone actually still playing psx backups????? i've never had anyone come back asking about it
Thanks for the info!
I'm afraid I'm not as advanced a gamer as everyone else here - I've had my ps2 for just over a year and hardly played it till recently and have a stack of old psx backups that I'd like to play again for the nostalga really! (Stuff like Abe's oddysee - haven't seen that on ps2) so having the chip has meant I don't have to mess around with the swap magic - install.elf - original psx game - psx backup just to get them to load!
I'll enjoy playing it all now and try to get some quality gaming time in before the urge to upgrade again comes (probably in another 5 years!!)
