  1. #1 Question A PS2 slim backup game change question

Hello to all. I have a Ps2 slim 70004 pal. I've also got a Matrix Infinity chip installed and I think it is 1.38 (not very sure, because the mi version numbers, which are shown below the ps2 logo when booting a game, are hard to read). Everything is working fine - ps2 games and backup games run fine, psx and backup psx games run fine. My only question is about changing games. When I ran an original ps2 game before I had the chip I had to only open the cover, remove the disc, insert a new original and just press reset button quickly. Now I have to go to standby mode when I play ps2 backups and insert a new backup, otherwise sometimes it works with a quick reset, but sometimes it freezes in the bios menu and I have to pull the power cord. So is this how this modchip works - having to turn off the console before I change a backup game? It also says it goes in sleep mode after boot so it seems natural to require turning off to standby mode. I would appreciate it if any one tells me more about this. Thanks.

No, you shouldn't have to turn it completely off. Tapping reset button should boot the new game you put into the console. I don't know why this is happening but it could be a dirty installation that's causing this. If you could, redo the installation.

Yes, it could be a bad installation. But are you sure it is a Matrix Infinity chip ?
If it is v1.38 it also can be a Modbo chip. Ok, this should work, but the Modbo is not my favourite chip. It is not always stable (that's my experience).
And if you think it is a Modbo, don't try to update the firmware to a higher version. It won't work and probably it will never work again.

The SCPH-70004 can be a V12 or V13 model. The V12 doesn't default have a laser-protection built-in, the V13 has. So, if it is a V12, you must have a separate laser-fix. Maybe it is installed, but of course I cannot know or see that from here. Perhaps the laser-fix has something to do with it and becomes active while it should not. But you didn't mod your own PSTwo I think ??

I think it is Matrix Infinity but I am not sure which one it is and whether it is the original or not. I have laser protection installed as well. No, I didn't install the chip or the laser protection. Apart from that reset issue, it is working just perfect. And the fact that it goes to sleep mode does not mean that it requires a turn off for a game change? Thanks for the help.
