PS2 ID changer, MI manual....
PS2 ID changer, MI manual.... –
01-06-2006,09:46 PM
Greetings everyone.
I just got my console chipped with the latest MI.
1. Normally, does MI comes with a manual?
I'm asking this because I didn't buy it directly from any of the vendors, I bought it via a bulk order by someone, and I forgot to ask him about it.
If the answer is no, is there an online manual/tutorial?
I'd love to read a documentation of MI. As it is I don't even know how to set the Devolutions. The installer did it for me though.
2. Are there any issues between MI and PS2 ID changer? Since the MI has the autofix region/format feature, I'm scared that it would mess up my system or something?
I haven't tried using the PS2 ID changer btw, on my previous unknown modchip the thing won't load, I don't know whether it's the modchip or the media itself.
That's all for now, I'd appreciate any feedbacks.

Matrix doesn't work with PS2 ID Changer even with the latest version. I've tried that, it won't boot.

I have to say, there's hardly any detailed info/guide on their official site.
I've been googling but the results were either irrelevant, incomplete or vague. Maybe my Google skills is not l33t enough.
So where exactly can I get a documentation of MI, or at least something close to it?

Download the lastet FW, the "how to use" guide is included in there.

Okay I've another question.
The reason I asked for a documentation was because I wanted to use a new hdd.
Now that I've managed to install and boot DMS HDD Explorer on my new HDD, I want to install HDloader on it. Actually I already installed a HDloader beforehand on the hdd via Winhipp, but apparently it's not that simple. Anyway...
Tried installing via 'install application' in DMS HDD Explorer using the HDloader(patched) cd but I got an error. The filesystem created is 128 btw. I'm guessing that in order to install using the DMS HDD explorer, the file in the cd must be in ELF format. Am I right?

Hi broodje, it did help a little bit.
I got a 'bad install script' (in DMS HDD Explorer) when I tried to install it though, maybe you can check what's wrong?
Here's the INSTALL.CNF that I did:
HDLoader 1.0
mc0:\BOOT\HDLOADER\HDLNTSCCDDMA0.ELF
_MKDIR mc0:\BOOT\HDLOADER
_COPY cdrom0:\HDLNTSCCDDMA0.ELF;1 mc0:\BOOT\HDLOADER\HDLN
And here's the SYSTEM.CNF:
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\HDLNTSCCDDMA0.ELF;1
VER = 1.00
VMODE = NTSC
