PS2 Doesn't Launch Guitar Hero Properly with Guitar Controller

Hey all,

I'm using a bought, legit version of Guitar Hero and the controller. When I power on the PS2 with the Guitar contoller in, the Matrix logo shows up, then goes to the PS2 browser. Once there, I'm unable to switch between the memory card and gamedisc. However, if I use a regular controller instead of the Guitar controller, the game loads normally. I'm then able to switch out the controllers.

I'm using firmware 1.88, and I've got a V12 PS2.

Can anyone help?

Yeah, I disabled the chip (with the guitar controller) and it worked normally.

Strange.

I had the same problem. What I've been doing is just not having the Guitar Hero controllers plugged in until the game fully boots up.

I'm running 1.45. I have a V7. No problems with guitar hero controller here.

The Guitar Hero controller has... certain buttons and directions always held down. I think it's left and R2. I really don't remember, but that could be some sort of trigger for the modchip to boot, and since you can't move the d-pad other than up and down (strum bar), you can't pick the disc.

I have had the same problem (MI 1.93). Not every time but occasionally.

Same thing here all you need to do is wiggle the wammy bar a bit and press reset and it should load fine. At least it does for me every time it decides not to boot
