wrong thread:
' problems using dev2 mode'
@ forsok.
Is your HDLoader a fully patched 0.7c version? There is a setting in the patching program that sets 'no disc seek' for v9, 10 & 11.
Perhaps this is your problem?
Try to flash firmware 1.54
I use firmware 1.75 can`t boot by DEV1&DEV2 with HDL0.7c.
But when I use firmware 1.54, it`s all fine. No problem.
then u are using a wrong SYSTEM.CNF or INSTALL.CNF file
u must hit ENTER at the end of the script maybe 2 times, am not sure.
I have a PS2 V-7 and firmware 1.75, DEV1 and DEv2 works fine as they supposed to do.

1. Yes you may need to downgrade Infinity firmware to 1.54 from 1.75 as this is the only way i got hdloader to work with firmware from DEV2 mode.
2. PS2 version 9 and later has this problem. If you had used others' fully patched hdloader 0.7c and it worked fine booting from CD but hangs on splash screen on booting from HDD (DEV mode2) then the problem is the fully patched hdloader has the /S option enabled ... as it is fully patched. Here lies the problem. You need to find an unpatched hdloader.elf, unpack it then patched it to all option (/N, /C is a must, others as you see fit) but NOT /S
option. Pack it back and rename to BOOT.ELF (in capitals) before installing to HDD in DEV2.
It should work.
Cheerios
Would downgrading to firmware 1.54 fix the loading gui string problem with myps2 in dev2?
This is what your problem is if you need a disc in the drive. 100%Originally Posted by andybrice
