    Hello to all!

A week ago I bought an original modchip infinity green dot for one pstwo v12. I decided to install it yesterday (3 hours welding?).

when turn on the pstwo appears a MATRIX logo, but then the screen turns black and it does nothing.

I don't know if it comes with firmware installed. I have tested it, but no game works...

    - When turn on the pstwo the matrix icon appears for 2 seconds. Then it disappears and the screen turns black and doesn't load the original games.

    - If I push the L1 button during the matrix logo is on the screen it goes to the play stations navigator. when I insert an original PS2 game, it says to me that it is a DVD Image, and the DVD reproducer is not configured.

    - Pressing Select during the matrix logo appears a message: "DISABLED" and when I reset the pstwo, it doesn't load the matrix logo and it doesn´t load any original game.

    - I have a CD with latest firmware for matrix infinity, but I can`t install it... From the navigator it says me That there is a disc Play Station 2, but when I press X button to read it, the screen turns black for a minute and returns to the PS2 Navigator doing nothing... So I cannot load it?

Does anybody know what I'm doing bad? Can be a welding problem? Has it the firmware installed?

    HELP!

    Sorry for my English!

OK, thanks! I'm going to open it and check all the solderpoints... But can you specify me what is the via point, please?

And, what do I have to scrape?

    Thanks!

here is a picture of some via points. to make contact with the soldering surface you need to crape off the top layer on the point.
Be gentle when doing this. you will notice that when craping it, the point gets more shiney. a fine knife or scalpell will do the trick.

The infinity comes with firmware on it. but if its old you might need to upgrade to make your ps2 to work correctly.

Dont forget to install some kind of laser fix if your about to mod a v12.
otherwise you laser will die werry soon.
Try to search for v12 laserfix or something on this forum.

I had exactly the same problem with a V13. After shortening my CPU wires and making sure that the BIOS wires cross as little as possible it worked.

I think your chip and PS2 are fine. Just take a deep breath and pick the soldering iron up again Retro's tip about the via's is also important.. make sure you get good contact.

I had the same problems when installing a Matrix Infinity in a PSTwo.

Because the Matrix logo shows, then goes black, the bios wires are fine, don't touch them. It is the DVD patch wires that are messed. Check the B-G-I-A-H points, because I had that exact same situation and saw that a couple wires were barely shorting because of too much wire exposed (only 4mm). Shorten the ends and redo those points. Also, check the SX point because I bridged it a couple times accidently. That should fix all problems.

Just remember, leave very little wire exposed for soldering, like 2mm max.
