    Here's my prob:

I bought and installed a Matrix Infinity (green dot from modchipstore.com) in my PS2 slimline V13. There was a little trial and error with getting it working / getting the soldering right, but I'm finally at the point that the when the PS2 powers up it shows the Matrix logo.

I can get to the config screen and that all works ok. It also boots PS1 and PS2 original discs with no problem. Trouble is, it won't boot burned...anything. I made a firmware update CDRW and that will only boot if I hold Circle while booting (but it did boot and I was able to update the firmware to the latest version). If I don't hold circle it won't boot, it just takes me to the screen asking me to insert a PS1 or PS2 formatted disc.

When I try to play a PS2 backup, it won't work at all (even trying the circle thing). Just goes to the 'insert a PS1 or PS2 disc' screen. Any ideas?

for sure that you have to check your DVD controller points
A,B,I and G if you have a NTSC version you also have to include the H wire

If one of those is missing or wrong installed you get a RSOD
Bios points are RIGHT because you can see the Matrix logo and settings

    good luck with troubleshooting

Very good advise from MABCOM there.
The error is located where he points you, if you havent burned the game completly wrong though.. But chances for that is very limited
