Problem: Constant flickering of screen

Searched around, didn't see anything related so....

When I boot up the PS2 (V3, Matrix firmware 1.82), the screen flicks like crazy, even at logo screen. The weird thing is that if I disable the modchip, it stops. Anyone has any idea? Thanks.

sounds like a bad install...

did this problem start when you updated the modchip, or it's a brand new install?

if it started after the update, try to reflash it with firmware 1.82 or downgrade it.

otherwise, i would suggest you to check the soldering and wirings.
