So here's the deal, I got a PlayStation 2 for Christmas, complete with the "matrix infinity" chip, so I bought two games from a local store (copied games, not originals) and I burned a couple of cds (PlayStation 1 games) and one dvd. When I first tried the two games I bought I got the red screen that reads "Please insert a PlayStation or PlayStation 2 format disc". I fixed that later by unplugging and plugging the console. But when I tried the games I burned, I got the red screen again. Unplugging and plugging the console didn't work.
Here's how I burned the PlayStation 2 game: I downloaded the game "Valkyrie Profile", but it was too big for a dvd, so I mounted the image with DAEMON Tools and copied the content into the dvd (by creating a data dvd with Nero).
Now here's how I burned the PlayStation games. I downloaded the games in .mdf and .mds format, I mounted the images with DAEMON Tools and I made a copy with Nero from the virtual drive to my dvd drive. The thing is... this games worked fine on my friend's PlayStation 1.
Now here's the technical information. I have a NTSC, slim version, "SCPH-90001" model PlayStation 2. It has the Matrix Infinity chip installed, and it's updated. The console is brand new.
