Please Help with the latest Firmware V1.54 update
Please Help with the latest Firmware V1.54 update –
10-30-2005,08:29 AM
I have a V10 PS2 with the V1.35 firmware on it. But when I couldn't boot Shadow of the Colossus, I decided to upgrade my firmware to the latest V1.54.
I was able to burn it successfully onto a cd. But after putting the PS2 on standby and holding the reset button until the blue led comes on, the only thing that appears on my TV screen moments later (about 60 seconds later) is "Playstation @R", and "SCEA" below it in white letters with all black background. I have tried burning the V1.54 twice, and even the V1.50 before it, and I get this Playstation and SCEA everytime.
Booting up my games now, the screen still shows INFINITY MARTIX V1.35. Any help here would greatly be appreciated.

if you already have firmware v1.35 on the chip just put disc in and boot it like a normal ps2 disc dont hold button till blue led comes up and try that

Thank you for replying so quickly. I tried it, and I just get the Playstation and the SCEA underneat it (with the background music of the original Playstation One when its logo first come up on the original games). I got my PS2 chipped by Krazie (a respectible chipper from the BST-Secure.com forum), so I know my chip is authentic. Any other suggestions would be appreciate it.
Does anyone else have problems with Shadow of Colossus with older firmeware Matrix Infinity chip?

What you have described happens when you have a non-auto boot chip like a duo2 and you attempt to boot a PSX games in PS2 mode. Are you sure the disc you burnt if the official MI firmware upgrade file? You can get it rright from there site here
http://www.infinitymod.com/matrix/fi...inityFW154.zip
Also how sure are you that your have a true MI?

Thanks for the replies Spedmental and Dungbeetle46. My V10 PS2 has been autobooting everything since I got it brand new 8 months ago (PS2, PS1, DVD). I had the same problem trying to booth the Demo of Shadow of the Colossus that came with the Office PS magazine. I had to disable the Matrix Infinity chip to get that demo to work. All other demos on that disc loaded just fine. I did get it from the www.infinitymod.com website. But I will try to download the zip file from the link you provided. Thank you again for your reply. I really appreciate it.
Edit:
Hi Spedmetal. I just unzipped the file at the link you gave me. And this time when I was burning it with Nero, I noticed that one of the settings was set at "Track Only," and so I changed it to "Disc Only" and everything works now. Thank you so much.
