i have wasted several dl discs and alot of money. i have a matrix infinity with the latest firmware 1.91. and i am using the verbatim dl discs. i even patched them using the toxic dl patch and nothing. i put in the disc and nothing no error messages nothing like there's no disc in the machine. it is a version 7 or 8 i think. the dvd9 (dl) support option in the mod menu is on. any thoughts

They way you are burning them maybe. I have a few DL games on Verbaitum DVD+DL and they work great. I did not patch the games cause the MI supports DL dvds and zero problems here.

Why are you patching the disks? That could be the problem.
The MI supports DL without patches.

I have backed up my copies of GT4 and GoW without any problems and no need to patch anything...

First make sure you backed up both layers of the original DVD9 game. Then if your DVD burner supports it, try changing booktype from DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM.

And also go into the menu and check DVD9 DL support.

If you patched your games with Toxic Patcher try tuning off DL support in the MI config menu. Or try burning it again without patching it. I never patch my games cause the matrix firmware supports it. Just an idea. Never hurts to try.

maybe try slowing you burning speed down if you haven't already.

I burn all my stuff at 2x and have only had one coaster and that was my fault. Other than that, I have never had any problems.
