Playing backup hard drive games

Alright I just bought a premodd ps2 from buymodchips or something
with the matrix infinity chip with v1.93 I think and a 200gig drive. And for the most part I like it. But Im not sure about booting stuff from dev1 and 2 and mem card applications and infinity manager. Now Ive been using hd advance
to play backup games off my hdd. But I dont want to have to use a disc every time I want to play a backup because I dont want to ware out my laser. So is there any way to load games without the hd advance cd. Ive tried using the dev1 and 2 the one gives me a black sceen the other just take me to the memory card. Ive pressed triange and circle at boot and i get options so that works and i can disable the chip. But I dont know anything about boot elf. or anything beings im new to this. I dont know if i need hd loader or what. Id just like to be able to play games without haveing to use the hd advance cd can anyone please help thanks. Oh yea I also was wondering if the infinity manager is when you press triange and circle if its not
it freezes or goes to the memory card. And my playstation is i think version 7 if that helps at all. Again please help thanks
