    Hi there.

I searched the forums but I couldn't find the answers I was looking for so I will make my own thread..

I made a backup of MGS2 substance and it has to be burned on a dual layer dvd.
I have a dual layer burner and I also have a dual layer dvdr from sony.

When I was browsing around the forums I noticed that you need a infinity v1.45 or higher to play DVD9 games but I have v1.39..
I also read something about upgrading the firmware and if the chip is "clone"?

Can someone explain that to me and tell me if this can ruin the PS2 cause it's not technically mine..

    Thanks in advance!

The Infinity firmware has to be 1.45+ to play dual-layer games. Your chip is 102% clone, so updating the firmware is impossible. Best option is to get a genuine Matrix Infinity.
SCPH-7501 PSX - Basic chip, hole in case
    V7 PS2 - Broken, needs DVD drive
V13 PSTwo - XCM Crystal Clear Case (is it?), XenoPS installed
Version Unknown PS2 - Broken controller port, slight damage to case, To Be Repaired and Resold when it arrives
    XBOX V1.4 - X2 4983 TSOP Flashed

Use the dual layer patcher if your chip does not support dvd9. It patches the iso image so that you can play it on your ps2.

matrix infinity does support dual layer so there is no patch needed, the situation will be different for other mod chips though.
