Ok so i tried copying GT4 and have had no luck.
I have the matrix infinity chip with v1.88 firmware.
i tried making an image with alcohol 120% and it just gives a black screen when loading then goes back to the screen with the memory cards and the dvd in gold.
then i tried dvd decrypter and it starts to load, but it goes hella slow. like 1fps.
    so whats up?
im using RiDATA DVD+R DL 8x
the dvd burner is kinda unknown, but from nero InfoTool its a TsstCorp TS-H552D. and it says it can do DVD+R DL.
but when i tried using dvd decrypter i wasn't able to change the book type to DVD-ROM from any of the options available.
Oh, and i made sure that the DL support is enabled on the chip. so thats already taken care of.
    Thanks for any help!!!

Why are you using a Dual Layer disc?, why not try a Sony DVD-r ver.2.0/1x-8x disc? thats what i would try, if you really have to use a DL disc, try a different type of media.... I would suggest Verbatim DVD+r DL :-)... i tried using a different type of DVD media (Memorex) and most of the time my back-ups wouldnt load or if it did, it would really slooooooow.

well i thought ridata/ritek was good stuff...i guess not???
but im wanting it on a DL so i can have all the movies and not worry about repacking the iso without the movies so i can fit it on a regular DVD+R.
oh, and the DVD+R's that i use are Taiyo Yuden's

Put the game on a HDD and play it with HDL, this is the best way.

Not all of us have the luxury of having an HD.

I would recommend getting the Verbatim +R DL. They are about the best that I have used. GT4 works great here. Riped using DVD Decrypter and burned with same at 2x and worked great and no slowdowns here what so ever. Also, I was unable to change my book type so I just left it. Seems that my Pioneer burner (R.I.P.) wouldn't let me have that choice. Make sure DV9 support is turned on too in you chip.

Seems DL stuff is touchy with PS2 and I have used 2 or 3 brands and Verbatiums have never let me down. For DV5 stuff TY's all the way!

Not like IDE HDD's are expensive these days. You can get one for not much more then it costs you to get a pack of DL DVD+R's. Maybe even less

ya i ended up just downloading the DVD5 version of it off bittorrent.
I do have a HDD but i dont have the HDL, so i guess thats a no go even if i wanted to try it. Dont u have to put it all as 1 level or something when u do that??? i dont know for sure, just remember reading something about that when i was fingering through all the other GT4 posts.
