Need advice on soldering a wire (No experience) –
K so i figured out what was wrong with my matrix chip.A wire came loose(I said the heck with it and opened up my ps2) looking at the MI installation guide I figured out where the wire goes
Its wire G on this graphic
the place where it came lose is on the upper left hand picture,on the 29th little metal...thing(haha)
Well anyways what equip would you recommend to solder this piece back on,because Im not gonna pay to have somebody attach one wire,or for shipping.
IT IS that wire thats the problem though and I held the wire in its place while I booted up a backup and it worked pefectly.
So...Id appreciate advice on how to continue from this point on.Anythin else I can do to attach the wire.Could crazy glue conceivably work? Is buying the proper soldering iron cheaper than shipping my ps2? Its ONE wire....I really dont wanna go that route :[
you will need a decent soldering iron with a fine tip and solder (Some flux would help as well) if you've never solder before I definately wouldn't recommend soldering it back to the original position. Use the alternative G point.
This also requires carefull work as you need to scrape off the green stuff on the via in order to solder to it.
Glue will definately not work. If I were you I would get someone to do it for you. If you've never soldered before there are many things that can go wrong and its easy to comppletely stuff things up.
