MyPS2 from dev2

I've been trying to get MyPS2 to launch from dev2 mode for some time now, with no luck. The intructuions said to add hdd_boot_part, and hdd_boot_path to the config.dat file. So I added
hdd_boot_part = hdd0:__boot
hdd_boot_path = /

Where am I going wrong?

hmm, still isn't working. I've been using a MyPS2 that I have burned to CD to transfer files from CD to __boot. I tried putting a USBD.IRX (taken from Midnight Club 3) onto mc0: but the MyPS2 just hangs at the point which it loads USBD.IRX So unfortunatly I've gone through a bunch of CDs tonight, yay for coasters.

instead of using a burned copy of myps2 to transfer the folders/files you should try uLaunchELF

the usbd.irx is not supported or your flash drive is incompatable,

Any usbd.irx file that is v0.16+ will probably not work.

Well my flash drive works with codebreaker, so I'd assume it would would with MyPS2 also. I kinda gave up on getting it to run from dev2 for the moment. Trying to figure out the whole network thing.

that is not all true, even if it works in codebreaker the flash drive may still not work with homebrew. try using your flash drive with other homebrew ps2 apps and see if it works with them.

I was just playing around with ulaunchelf and it recognized my flash drive.

awsome, that means it is not your flash drive so that narrows it down for that issue; you can browse the files in the flash drive with uLaunchELF right? if it freezes when trying to browse the files in the drive then it is probably eather your pendrive or usbd.irx. transfer the files to the flash drive and mark (*) each folder and file to be copied and transfer them to the dev2installers __boot partition using uLaunchELF's reg. copy paste command from your pendrive to the partition.

Man I've spent all night at this.
path: hdd0:/__boot/ contains
boot/
fonts/
language/
logs/
shoutcast/
skins/
boot.elf
CONFIG.DAT
samba.xml

I've tried every combination of part and part I can think of for the last two entries in config. I have no blank lines before them, and one blank line after. I have everything how the MyPS2 readme says as far as what files where. config.dat isn't suppost to be lowercase is it? I forget if I tried that or not. Even updated to latest firmware and nothing changed.

Is this just a common problem with 1.2, or all versions of myPS2? If 1.1 works fine, I'd just deal with that.
