Modbo 760 PS2 Slim v14 Questions/Problems
EDIT - Sorry I think I posted this in the wrong forum by accident ><
I just installed a Modbo 760 in my slim v14 PS2 and everything works...sort of.
When I boot the console I do see the 'Modbo' logo so I know the chips there...I can boot some of my backups, but not near as many as my older fat PS2 (w/ a DMS3). Originals work like a charm...backups work 1/2 the time (as in, sometimes it says it can't read the disc, sometimes the loading is reeeally long, and sometimes it works just fine). The media I used isn't the best but my fat PS2 has no trouble reading the discs...so I'm not sure if my v14 laser is just weak or what.
My questions is this...with this chip how important is the wire length for this kind of issue? When I ordered the chip they send a bunch of 30ga wire...each piece about 4" in length. I didn't trim any of the wires as this is my first install so wasn't sure which wires needed to be as short as possible etc.
Here is the installation diagram for my version of PS2:

My next question is that with my PSX backups, the PS2 recognizes them immediately in the browser but again almost immediately gives a 'Please insert a PS2 disc' error....it's not like it can't read it, but rather like it WON't read it. Any thoughts?
