    Hi.

I have my mod installed by a "professional" (can't help it with soldering!) on a v7 and it loads everything-PS2, but it seems that it doesn't boot most PS1 games. Most of them are originals of various regions, I have more than 80 titles and only about 20 of them can boot. Mostly I get an infinite black screen and sometimes the "Insert a PS2 or PS disc" message. Forcing the PSX/DVD mode didn't help at all.

Note: I just upgraded to 1.88 (from 1.7x) and the problem remains the same.

    Any help?

The console is brand new, I bought it 3 days before the modding. And I've been searching for weeks to find a non-slim version.

I called him right after I found out. He said that he has no experience with PS1 stuff and he is sure 100% that everything went right since the firmware got updated successfully and the PS2 games run correctly. I'm worried if I've been cheated for a MI copy. I saw the chip when he installed it and it was the green dot version, it looked like the right thing.
Any chance he forgot to solder a cable or something?

Boot from a cold boot, not from the browser. That solves most of the PSX booting problems though even sometimes it requires mutiple resets. I've got a buglist started for PSX games on the MI chip.
