MI on V4 - Can`t Flash - Programming Failed
MI on V4 - Can`t Flash - Programming Failed –
11-07-2006,03:21 PM
Hi Folks..
I mounted an MI (Green Dot) in a V4. Before i had an Magic3 - Working Fine.
After soldering i test the Wiring with an Multim. From MI to the pins of the Chips. Everything looked good.
Then i boot with FW 1.91 Disc - But the only thing happens was an White-Screen for a short time and then a Black Screen.
Then i boot again without Mem-Card in the socket.
After a short Time appears the Matrix-Flash Screen. When i hit "x" to Programm, the Programmingmode starts, but then comes the Message
"Programming failed"
I`m Sure that the chip is no Clone.
Somebody told me, that the problem is the Laser. Maybe too old and can`t read the FW_Disc correctly....
Any other Idea`s ???
Please help me..... THX

try this m8:
install a previous firmware first, like 1.88 or so, or even older, then gradually upgrade to 1.91
maybe it will help

could be, but the chip should not work at all if the GND or + wire is too long i think.

So...... tried out another thing:
I removed GND + 3.3V to switch the MI off.
Hmmm, the console only boots if i press the PW-Button for about 4 Sec.
If i press him shorter, the PS2 Fan go on, the Disc spin around and the Screen will be black....
Damn... Maybe there is an "short" Problem...

Ok.... Checked this with the Multi:
No short between V and R. (resistance >20MOhm)
I checked every Pin at the Bios-Chip... Against all other No short.
Holy Crap....
