does anyone have pics of good installs for this chip in a brand new v14 ps2 slim? Is it much or any different than the v12 and v13 mobos? I just want some actuall install pics instead of diagrams if anyone has them.

    Thanks.

Wow nice installs man. I'm an experienced xbox chip installer--however I've never opened up a PS2. The damn thing looks so small and fragile compared to the big ass xbox.

right, and it burns pretty good too if you leave the iron on too long.

I've heard many issues with the DMS4 and the v14 ps2 not being able to flash a bios via CD because of the v14.

Has anyone had any problems flashing a MI on a v14 ps2 slim via CD?

Also, I notice in your installs that there are no laser fixes. I have one - should I even bother installing it? People seem to have mixed opinions on this.

With the DMS4 (not the new DMS4 SE's) on V14's you must flash the bios on the chip from the memory card. This entails having a second PS2 that is chipped that you can upload the flash elf to.

With the MI green dot you will be able to flash the bios on the chip with a disc if you have installed the chip correctly.

The V13's and V14/15's do not need any laser fix and this has been taken care of by Sony. Only the V12's really need a fix.

Well I got the MI green dot installed... but maybe not correctly. I can't upgrade the firmware - and if I disable the chip by holding start it won't boot DVDs (or anything). I get the red screen when I just stick in the MI firmware disc and let it go but if I hold select when I boot it up it just freezes on the MATRIX screen.

The system can run PS1 games but that's about it. Guess I'm going to open it back up and test some points.

Any suggestions while I drudge through the boards? =(

    edit: got it working!!!! =)

The V12.2 does not need the laser fix if the resistor read 10D NOT 303 or 683
