MI and PS2 v14 install questions

first - I need help getting the damn top cover off.. it seems to be stuck still on the back left side and I don't want to break the reset pcb on the top left side

second - should i glue the MI chip down to the ps2 motherboard? on the xbox chips I have installed they all came with some double sideded adhesive

hmm when you are already have a hard time with removing the cover is it wise to go on and install the chip ?

Xboxén are much easier to do,
but for advise yes you can use some double side tape to hold the infinity

With the front of the console facing you, grab the left side bottom half front and rear with your left hand (thumb on front, middlefinger on back).
Grab the top left side with your right hand (opposite fingers from bottom).
Lift up the top back left, then the top front left. Once the top is free on the left side, just lift up and to the right, you will feel resistance like it's gonna break, and it will make a breaking snap, but it'll come free and shouldn't break.
