The MI Menu is not displaying while using component cables
The MI Menu is not displaying while using component cables –
The screen won't display the Matrix Infinity config menu while I'm using component cables. I can play all my games but 1, so it's not really a problem with my cable. If I'm too lazy to change to a component cable to set up the chip configs, I have to keep changing to other channels and changing back to AV so the screen will refresh to the last state so I can see which changes I have done.
This is not a huge problem to me, the problem is that 1 game acted the same way that the configuration screen did, and I think it might have something to do with the Matrix chip. The game was Disgaea Hour of Darkness. My PS2 is a 75001 brand new.
Does anybody know a way to fix it, or even if the problem I have with the game is because of the game and there might be some trick to change in the config screen to fix it? The game is a backup copy and it's the only game that didn't work right with component cables in my collection of 40 games.
Thanks for any help
have u tryed changing the ps2's settings to conponent
I'm utilizing component cables on a green dot w/ latest firmware without this problem.
The PS2 is set to component output because the games work fine (besides Disgaea).
I don't know which color dot is my chip, only that my console is a 75001.
I havent tried version 1.93 because it's not supposed to fix this problem. But if this happened before, a new version that fixes a problem even though its not supposed to, I would try it.
I am having issues also with component cables. I have a 77001 console and I never had issues with them before it was modded. I am sure the cables are fine since games work ok although sometimes I get waves through the image. I cant get to the MI setup unless I swap out cables. I have the chip set to NTSC and am running latest firmware. If I disable the chip I have no issues.
I have seen a lot of people with this problem, but no solution around. It's probably a flaw in the chip that people don't want to talk about, since it's an awesome chip overall. But i hope it's something that can be fixed with a new firmware.
Yeah today is my second day with the chip and I tried some PSone games and they don't work over component either. I have been searching around the boards looking for possible solutions and I think tomorrow I am going to try playing around with different firmware. Should I contact Team Matrix? Maybe I have a bad chip, but everything else works fine I cant imagine somethings wrong with it.
I tested PS1 games and yeah same problem, the screen doesn't show anything but still images, that only appear when I change to other channel and then change back to the AV channel.
Upgraded to 1.93 and the problem is still there
I was thinking of trying downgrading to 1.68 before VGA support was added and when firmware received "component fix" but was concerned about flashing such an old firmware and having compatibility issues.
