hey guys, i have a v9 ps2 with an mi 1.93 which my buddy modded. the chip is legit, not a clone (got it from an authorized reseller and looked at the chip before modding). everything works flawlessly except sometimes when i boot dev1, it just hangs at the matrix logo. this problem seems to happen when i toggle between dev1 and auto/dvd boot (playing kh2 right now, so i'm playing that off the disc). when i hadn't switched between boot modes it worked flawlessly. anyways after toggling the boot, it would keep freezing almost every time when trying to boot dev1. the only way around this was to reflash the chip. i did this and then tried booting dev1 about 5 or so times, but it still hung once, so not sure if that was a 1 off or what...

has anyone else had this problem? does anyone know what is up or have any suggestions?

just out of question, do you have your BOOT.ELF in MC0:/BOOT ?
    Full path being mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF

odd, it could be a bad flash or a corrupt BOOT.ELF. I suggest replacing the elf with a fresh one from the uLE thread. If that doesn't work, then try downloading the firmware again and reflashing.

well i replaced boot.elf, problem persists. I also notice that if I do auto-boot or hold X to get it to boot a dvd, it also randomly hangs... would downgrading then re-upgrading firmware help?

k, well i tried downgrading to 1.91... same problem...
could it be that some points need to be redone on the mod?

Possibly BIOS and 3.3v and GND points. Those control any BIOS related and chip function. Post a pic of your install for us to see.
SCPH-7501 PSX - Basic chip, hole in case
    V7 PS2 - Broken, needs DVD drive
V13 PSTwo - XCM Crystal Clear Case (is it?), XenoPS installed
Version Unknown PS2 - Broken controller port, slight damage to case, To Be Repaired and Resold when it arrives
    XBOX V1.4 - X2 4983 TSOP Flashed

i think some elf do not boot with MI chip with dev1 mode. i have usbadvance.elf renamed as BOOT.ELF and installed in my memory card at mc:0\BOOT\BOOT.ELF. the problem is: the same memory card will always boot with H2O chip using dev1 mode but not MI mode. but if i use sms or hdloader, they boot fine with both h20 and MI.
